‘Microneedling without needles’
‘Bio Spicule Microneedling is an advanced treatment that revitalises your skin by stimulating collagen production and promoting cellular renewal. Using spicules instead of needles, it gently exfoliates, improving texture, tone and radiance of the skin while effectively reducing acne, blemishes and pigmentation.
Unlike standard micro needling where the skin closes as soon as the needles are extracted, spicules stay in your skin for up to three days allowing your tailor made home treatment products to penetrate much more deeply into the skin and give fantastic results. There are three treatments to choose from Anti Ageing, Pigmentation or Acne.
What are Spicules?
Spicules are microscopic structures found in sponges. They are part of the skeleton of the sponge that gives the sponge it’s structure and shape. We have spicules in our bones also. The spicules used in the Dr Spicule treatments are found in sponges, they are so tiny they are not visible to the naked eye, they are less than a third of the diameter of a hair follicle.
What happens during a spicule treatment?
Your skin is cleansed.
We then massage in a cream containing the Spicules. As we gently massage the spicule work their way into your skin, creating thousands of micro channels, this causes a controlled injury. This activates the “repair” system in your skin activating the production of collagen and elastin.
We the apply a soothing mask.
Your face is cleansed again.
Your therapist will explain how to use your 7 day home care products…these are included in the rice of the treatment.
What is the after-care?
Days 1-3 Cleanse with sterile water and apply Dr Spicule home care daily.
Days 4-7 Apply cleanse with gentle cleanser, use Dr spicule home care, apply spf.
What to expect in the days after the treatment?

Redness, tingling, sensation of tightening…feels like sunburn
Day 2
Redness reduced, prickly sensation when touching your skin.
Day 3-4
The pickling sensation disappears,the skin can appear darker, most people begin to peel. Some people experience slight itching.
Day 5
Persistent peeling.
